Stock Blue Printed Briggs 5 hp is a term used by kart associations to describe
a stock 5 hp Briggs motor,

*Other classes that at least 5 carts qualify for can be added at request.
*All restrictor plate classes must run RVL mufflers.
*No tire prepping, wrapping, grooving, or altered (slick tires only)
*Tech will be done following each class.
Membership fee for Cresco Karting Association: $20.00/Single or $25.00 family.
Entry Fee including Pit Pass $22.00 Adults, $17.00 Children. For those not racing, Pit Pass $10.00.
Entry fees will be $2.00 off for members. Pitt passes will be $1.00 off for members.
Members will also be invited to "Members Only" practice nights and special meetings.
Pitt Pass: For insurance purposes and for the safety of any person entering competition or a restricted area, that person must sign a release form and will be given a wristband. Wristbands should be visible at all times and must be displayed upon the request of any track official. Failure to comply with this rule at all times will result in the immediate ejection from the pit area.
General Responsibility: Competitors are independent contractors, not employees of Cresco Go-Kart Speedway, and assume full responsibility for any and all taxes or charges received from Cresco Go-Kart Speedway.
Driver Requirements: Driver must be a minimum of 5 years of age. All drivers must satisfactorily demonstrate driving capability to speedway officials if requested to do so.
Proof Of Age: Cresco Go-Kart Speedway reserves the right to request proof
of age of any driver at any time.
Kart Owner: All Karts must have a registered owner. Kart numbers will be assigned according to the sequence in which they are registered. All karts must have a registered number with Cresco Go-Kart Speedway to race on our track. The cost to register that number will be $10.00 for the season. This will be done on a first come basis. All registered numbers are on a per class basis. These numbers will be reserved for each owner until April 1st of the following year. If the current owner is not registered by the given date each year, that number will be available to the first driver requesting that number. The kart number registration fee money will go into the track award fund. Only full size karts will be allowed on the track. Kids Karts are only allowed in the
Putt-Putt class. The kids karts must have guards and/or be safe. Karts are subject to tech approval. No yard karts.
Reserved Pit Stalls: Reserved pit stalls are available for an annual fee. The reserved pit stalls will be reserved for every race throughout the season. Continual reservations for the same pit stall will be available to that driver until April 1st of the following year. If the driver has not paid for the stall by that time, it will become available to the first driver requesting it. Reserved stalls will be $50 for the season. All stalls will be 50’ x 15’. This size is great for a truck and trailer. If you only have a truck (and no trailer), 2 trucks would fit great in this spot.
Knowledge Of The Rules: All individuals are responsible to know the rules, policies and
regulations set forth herein, and those, which may be added during the season. Information contained in periodically distributed update sheets will become effective immediately upon distribution unless otherwise noted. Driver and/or kart owner assumes full responsibility for their kart as well as the conduct of their pit crew and spectators and shall be the sole spokesperson thereof.
Cresco Karting Association Memberships: This offer has its privileges. You will save $2.00/kart per class and also a $1.00 on your pit pass. You will also be included in any special member only events and practices. This $20.00 fee for singles, and $25.00 for families, is the only way to have a vote on decisions made for the track.
General Regulations
Assumption Of Risk: All individuals assume full responsibility for any and all injuries sustained, or for property damage incurred while on the race premise, en route, or to or from the speedway. No individual will have any claim for expenses or damage against Cresco Go-Kart Speedway, its promoters, or officials, regardless of negligence claim expenses or damages against Cresco Go-Kart Speedway, its promoters, or officials, regardless of negligence.
Insurance: We do not provide insurance coverage on vehicles in pits or infield. The primary responsibility for the safe condition and operation of a kart rests with the owner and/or driver.
Accident Policy: All injury reports are to be filed with the speedway of the day of the mishap. Failure to do so may result in denial of a claim by the insurance company.
IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLOVER, IF THE DRIVER'S HELMET COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE RACE SURFACE, THE DRIVER WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY FOR SAFETY REASONS.
Participation: Track officials shall inspect all competing karts. Such inspection does not deem the kart safe or free from defects. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of our compliance with these rules. Anyone may inspect the race course. By participation you deem the race course acceptable for competition.
Inspection: Any kart is subject to a full inspection by a track official at any time prior to receipt of
payoff by the karts owner for the days events. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. Following the conclusion of each feature race, the top four (4) feature karts, and any other kart designated by track officials, will immediately proceed to the tech area and will remain there until all karts have been inspected, approved and released by track officials.
Conduct: Any of the following will be reason for immediate ejection from Cresco Go-Kart Speedway.
*This applies to drivers, crew and spectators.
Any abusive language, fighting, arguing with race officials, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Consumption of any alcoholic beverage, which is strictly prohibited by anyone having a pit pass or in the pit area.
Any person on the premise who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances.
Anyone entering the pits without a pit pass will be ejected from the property for two (2) races. If they are part of a pit crew or family member of the driver, the driver will forfeit all points for that race and will also be ejected from the property.
Anyone approaching the flag man or scorer during the race will be automatically disqualified for the day. THIS INCLUDES DRIVERS, PIT CREWS, FAMILY MEMBERS AND SPECTATORS. A second offence will result in ejection for one calendar year.
Unauthorized entry into the pit area is not permitted. This includes other driver's pit areas as well. For your safety and the safety of others, stay in your designated pit area. If there is a problem, the outsider will be ejected per above rules. Any unauthorized use of the speedway is strictly prohibited. NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON THE SPEEDWAY WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM A TRACK OFFICIAL.
Drivers Are Responsible For Their Pit Crews.
Drug and Alcohol: Mandatory revocation of the kart number for any driver using drugs at any time and/or intoxicating beverages before entering the race premise or while in attendance before these beverages are allowed in the pit areas. No consumption of alcoholic beverages will be allowed in restricted areas until the conclusion of all racing events. Any driver, owner, pit crew, or spectator violating this rule will result in disqualification of kart and loss of purse and/or points for the program.
Decisions: All decisions concerning score keeping, suspension, disqualification, fines, and interpretation of rules by Cresco Go-Kart Speedway are final and only subject to change at the discretion of track officials. Questions regarding race procedure or other decisions will not be discussed while the race program is in progress. Anyone not adhering to this rule will be penalized at track official's discretion, which may include, but not limited to, ejection, suspension and/or forfeiture of points.
The Board also reserves the right to allow a driver to change a class regardless of the driver's age. This means that a driver may be allowed to run in a class when said driver does not fall into the age guidelines. The driver will abide by all rules for the class that he has moved into. This will only be done when just cause to make an exception has been demonstrated.
Protests: Any protest must be submitted in writing to the Tech Director within 15 minutes following completion of a race. Protest fee for engines is $50.00. Driver with illegal motor will receive no payoff and loss of points for that event. Second offence will result in loss of placement monies and all accumulated up to and including the event. Money will be refunded to the protestor if the motor is found to be illegal. If legal, owner and Tech Director will receive $25.00 of the protest fee. Money will be refunded to the protester if the protest is upheld, otherwise the protest is disallowed, and the protester shall forfeit the protest fee.
Claims: The claim will be available to any driver in the Senior Sportsman Class who is on the lead lap at the conclusion of the feature. That driver may claim any one of the top three (3) place finishers. The driver making the claim has five (5) minutes from the time that the driver crosses the scales (he may remain on the scales providing someone from his pit is retrieving the money) to produce $375.00 ($25.00 which will go to the Tech Inspector), present the money to the Tech Director, and advise him which motor he intends to claim. If the motor being claimed is deemed to be illegal, the driver of that kart will be disqualified, loose his/her points for that race and claim becomes void with the money being returned.
Disposal: All competitors will be required to practice "Leave no trace policy", maintaining a clean pit area both during and after the event. Absolutely no oil and fuel is to be dumped on the ground. Disposal of all used oil, fuel, and old tires is the responsibility of the kart owner. Anyone caught dumping oil and fuel or leaving used tires on the grounds WILL BE SUBJECT TO PENALTY, 1st offence - $50.00, 2nd offence - $50.00 and barred from competing in the next race.
Pit Area: No driving of karts while under power in the pit area. Drivers may drive onto the scales, but karts are not to be driven off of, or past the scales. ABSOLUTELY NO HOT PITS WILL BE PERMITTED. A $25.00 fine will be enforced for any driver not complying with this rule.
Fees And Payoff
Pit Pass: Pit passes are $10.00 ($9.00 for members) and anyone & everone in the pits must have one.
Entry Fees And Registration: All entry fees are to be paid at the time of registration and are as follows
For Members:
Putt Putt & Rookies: $15.00
Junior 1 & 2: $15.00
Senior Classes: $20.00
For Non-Members:
Putt Putt & Rookies: $17.00
Junior 1 & 2: $17.00
Senior Classes: $22.00
Entry fees includes driver pit pass.
Extra entries for same driver, same day will be $10.00 for members
& $12.00 for non-members.
Registration begins 120 minutes (2 hours) prior to the scheduled start time of the race. Registration ends 30 minutes before the scheduled time for the hot laps or drivers meeting, whichever is first. After that, registration may be made, but the driver must start at the back of the field. The start at the back of the field will be for both heat races. Any driver not registered by the official registration completion time will scratch in any and all qualifying events. Entry fees for special events may differ.
Trophies and Payout:
Putt-Putt - Awards to each participant.
Rookie, Jr. 1 & Jr. 2 - Trophies to 1st-3rd place.
Senior Class - cash payback.
Payout Procedure: Trophy presentation and payoff will be at the completion of the day's last event. Standard procedure will be to pay a percentage if there are less than five (5) karts registered in a class. Only the driver or designated agent will receive payoff. No payoff distribution until technical inspections are completed. Any driver disputing final placing must be addressed to Track Officials prior to the conclusion of all technical inspections. Following completion of all technical inspections and pay outs having been distributed, race results are considered final and they WILL NOT BE CHANGED.
Year-End Awards: To be eligible for year-end awards, the driver must be registered with Cresco Go-Kart Speedway, have a race minimum of 65% of the races in the class for which their number is registered.
Racing Program: A normal racing program will consist of two (2) qualifying events and one (1) feature event per class. Beginners (Putt-Putt) will run five (5) lap heats and seven (7) laps feature race. Rookie & Junior Classes will run ten (10) lap heats and twelve (12) lap features. Senior Classes will run ten (10) lap heats and fifteen (15) lap features. This may vary per class entries.
Tech Items
Tires: Any tires may be used unless they are treaded . NO treaded tires will be allowed on the track. Racing Slick Tires Only!
Tire Prepping: There will be NO tire prepping used at our facility - Only Pure Drinkable Water is allowed on tires- means NO Chemicals will be allowed to be applied to tires at our track.
Oil and Fuel: Oil and fuel may be teched at any time during the race day. No flammable or dangerous additives of any kind are allowed in the crankcase. Any means of testing may be used including smell and appearance. A competitor may be disqualified if his fuel does not smell the same as a clean fuel sample supplied by the track. In the gas classes, no alcohol may be added to the fuel. This should be noted when buying gas from service stations. Some pump gases have alcohol added.
Anyone disqualified for oil or fuel infractions will forfeit all points for that day plus an additional 25 points will be taken from his/her accumulated points.
Karts: All bolts must be safely wired or secured with lock nuts. Brakes must be fully operational. Add-on weights must be painted white, have the kart number clearly displayed on the weight, and be bolted on securely per above specs.
Safety Equipment
Gloves: Gloves are Required and Must be worn
Headgear: Full coverage (full-face) helmets designed for competitive motor uses and with complying with Snell Foundation 2000 specifications is mandatory. Helmets must be in good condition and are subject to pre-tech inspection. It is recommended that participant label or letter rear area of helmet with blood type and any special medical information such as specific drug allergies.
Eye Protection: Eye protection is mandatory, whether goggles designed for motor sports use or a full visor integral with the helmet.
Neck Brace: Collar type, unaltered neck braces designed for motor sports use is mandatory in all classes.
Driver Apparel: Drivers are required to wear jackets of leather, vinyl, or abrasive resistant nylon or equivalent with full length jeans or protective race pants to prevent or minimize abrasions. High top sneakers or racing shoes, socks, fire suit, gloves, chest and/or rib protectors are recommended.
Safety Tech: Every driver's personal safety equipment is subject to a pre-tech inspection. There
will be a safety inspection required for ALL KARTS before being allowed to enter the racing area of the track. Any kart not passing the safety inspection will not be allowed on the track. Weekly pre-tech inspection is optional.
Fire Extinguishers: Fire extinguishers are mandatory in every pit. Please keep them visible and easily accessible not only for yourself, but for others not familiar with your pit. All extinguishers should be ABC'S.
Other Items: Anything not covered in the rules will be up to the discretion of the Tech Director and Track Officials without recourse from any owner, driver, crew member, or spectator.
The rules and regulations set forth and contained herein are designed to provide for the orderly and SAFE conduction of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable standards and requirements for said events.
Track officials will act upon any rules not covered as situations arise and will be added to the rules as necessary.
Flag Descriptions and Race Procedures:
There will be six (6) colored flags used by the flagman to control the race. They are green, red, white, yellow, checkered, and black. It is the flagman's job to relay information regarding the status of the race to the drivers by waving the various flags. It is the responsibility of the drivers to observe the flagman's motions each time he/she passes by the flag stand during the race.
Green Flag: Begin racing. When it has been determined that all karts are lined up in the proper position and the track is clear, the flagman will wave the green flag when the karts pass by the start line. On all starts and restarts, the race will begin when the green flag is waved.
Yellow Flag: Caution on the track. Slow down and hold your position. The yellow flag is also know as the caution flag. The caution flag will be thrown at the discretion of the flagman if there is a dangerous situation on the track. This is usually the result of a disabled kart or a multi-kart collision. On restarts, any kart involved in the caution will be put to the rear of the line-up.
In the cases of multi-kart collisions causing a caution flag, racers who stall or loose chains will be permitted in a timely manner, to restart at the tail end of the field. After the field is reformed and if the kart not ready to race, you will be given one (1) lap to rejoin the field. If you are not ready, move to a safe location and let the race resume. You will be scored appropriately based on the number of karts remaining in the race.
Stalled or disabled karts not under caution (become disabled while the race is underway) will not be permitted to restart the race unless there is another caution. Scoring stops at the point you become disabled.
Anyone intentionally causing yellows/cautions, may be black flagged.
If the caution flag is brought out after the white flag has been thrown in the heat races, the race will be scored on the white flag lap and will be considered complete. If it occurs in the feature race, we will revert back to three (3) remaining laps. (green - white - checkered)
IF YOU SPIN OUT AND ARE STILL UNDER POWER AND CAPABLE OF CONTINUING, THE CAUTION FLAG WILL NOT BE THROWN.
Red Flag: Automatic halting of the race. Karts must come to a complete stop in a safe and orderly manner. The race is scored according to the last complete lap under green.
White Flag: Signifies one (1) lap remaining in the race.
Checker Flag: The checkered flag is waved when the person leading the race crosses the finish line at the completion of the last lap. The first person to complete the designated number of laps for the race is declared the winner.
Black Flag: Pull of the track immediately in a safe and cautious manner. If the flagman waves the black flag and points at you while you are racing, you must slow down using caution not to interfere with the other racers and exit the track in a safe manner. This could be the result of an unsafe situation developing with your kart; your speed is off place to the point where it is a danger to the other drivers; reckless driving; or unsafe or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Track Officials: All practice and competition activity on the track is under the immediate control of the flagman, Pit Stewards, and Scorers. All competitors shall adhere to their directions.
Race Procedure
Practice: Practice sessions and Hot Laps for all classes except Putt-Putt will after the track is prepped and Before the Pit Meeting. Putt-Putt Hot Laps will be held immediately after the Pit Meeting. No practice without the Flagman and the safety vehicle present. Length of practice is determined by available time, not the number of karts per class.
Line Up Procedure: All competitors will draw for line up positions at the time of registration. Lowest number starts first in the first round of heat races. Second round heat races will be a complete inversion of the first round heat race line up. Accumulated heat points will determine future line up. In the event of a tie in heat points, position will be determined by the draw. HEAT POINTS WILL BE USED TOWARD SEASON POINT STANDINGS.
Any entry not in staging area when previous race has ended is subject to start scratch (in the rear of the field) for the race.
Starting Line Up: Racers will line up in a 1 - 2 - 2 formation. Lead kart will be the only one in the first row. For karts starting in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, place etc., they will line up with 2 karts in each row. The kart starting in 2nd place has the choice if he wants the inside or outside lane for the starting of the race. If the driver does Not say what lane he wants (inside or outside) he/she will automatically be put in the inside lane. The driver Must tell a track official what lane they want before the start of the race. No other starting position has the choice of what lane they start in. All karts starting in even number places (2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, etc) will start in the inside lane (with the exception of the 2nd place kart if they request to start in the outside lane). All karts starting in odd number places (3rd, 5th, 7th, etc) with the exception of 1st place, will start on the outside lane. (Unless the 2nd place kart chooses the outside lane and then the 3rd place kart would move to the inside)
Start: All karts must stay in line and maintain pace. No acceleration until reaching the designated start line. Inside pole kart sets the pace. If caution is thrown before completion of one (1) lap, drivers will line up in original positions, with the exception of karts involved in incident, which will start in the rear of the field. If the majority of the entire field is involved in the incident, a complete restart with original positions will occur. A single file restart may be signaled at the Flagman's discretion. Beginners may start from standing start. This will be determined by track officials.
Feature Qualification: A predetermined number of karts qualify through heats for the feature. Drivers not qualified will start scratch or qualify through a consolation race if necessary. The size of the field and the number of heats will determine the number of karts qualifying.
Restart After One Lap Complete: Line up is in the order in which the karts were scored, on the last completed green lap. If sufficient laps have been completed, the race may be called with points and payout according to the position to be held for restart.
Incident: Any kart causing a caution, or stopping due to a mishap, and not immediately lining up with other karts, will be considered involved in the incident.
Repairs: No kart may be attended to on the track without permission. All entries returning to the track shall start in the rear of the line up when returning to the track. Once the white flag is shown signifying one lap to go, no entry will be allowed back on the track.
Only authorized personnel shall be in the infield or on the track at any time
during the race program.
(Exception- Beginners Class - One adult allowed in the infield with a starter
in hand to assist if needed).
Competitor Performance: Continual ill-handling or rough driving will result in disqualification. Any kart, which leaves the racecourse, must return only in a safe manner. Any kart leaving the race surface starts in the rear if a caution is thrown. If no caution, you will be black-flagged if you are not fully under control while re-entering the race surface.
Rain Outs: An event will be considered complete if all qualifying events have been run. Feature events will be completed at the next scheduled race day (double features the following race). Payout will be paid for complete features events only.
Points: Cresco Go-Kart Speedway will have a track championship for the racing season. Points will be awarded in each heat race and the feature. We will award 10 points to each heat race winner, 9 points for second, 8 for third, etc. There are 2 heat races so you have a chance to win up to 20 points in the Heats (10 for each Heat). We will award 60 points to the feature winner, 57 for second, 54 for third, 52 for fourth, 50 for fifth, 48 for sixth, etc. At the end of the racing season, the first six places in all classes, (except beginners) will receive awards.
Point Allocation: All points are awarded to the KART registered upon entering the pit area.
ALL FUEL WILL BE SUBJECT TO TESTING WITH THE WATER TEST.
You are responsible for clean fuel (NO EXCEPTIONS).
